Bristled

New and old Kabul. Ruins and mansions. In a quests for safety, walls are build, barb wires, and spiked gates are installed. It just bristles with these paraphernalia. Life is never boring in Kabul.

Lost Valley from Canada

Wow this hit home for me because I live in such a peaceful land. This truly is a great picture and it reaches out on so many levels. Very emotional!!

I follow your blog for quite some time now. (I just have difficulty to write comments in general :-( ). It seems that you are living your life the way I can only dream about. I don’t know if I’ll ever have guts to do the same… I’d really like to live in one of those countries and provide a REAL help (not the type of help $15 a month to support 1 (!!!) child (I feel sorry for the other children surrounding the ‘chosen’ one)).

On the other hand your photos… They are so great and PRECISE. They don’t over romanticise the place and in the same time find a beauty in this pretty much destroyed world. Thanks and (even though from my experience - dangers always over estimated from outside) please be careful :)

@IT: Dear IT, so good to hear the words from your heart. I am just an ordinary person, and like you, are trying to make a difference in the world. You, supporting a child; giving this child a chance for better life, and me, working in AF are not very different from each other. I understand how you feel about supporting one child while others are also in need. But like they say here, in Afghanistan: " Qatra, qatra darIA mEsha", which means ' drop by drop, river is made.' We all that 'drop' in God's reaching out to people. Blessing to you.
