When it's 45C and you are in the middle of a waterless dAsht or a desert, a cool place near the water, under a tree is a welcomed rest for the weary traveler.

@HorseRotorVator: Thank you, HRV! You are always so encouraging.
I relate to this picture so well Natalia - it expresses the dry hot land contrasted with the shade and pool!

@Bron: Thanks, Bron! Water sure becomes the most precious and desirable thing when dry spell lasts years... Only here water often is not 'sweet' but salty or even brackish so it's no use for anything, even washing.
This is real peaceful shot, I like your photography Nats, its more of a documentary style. Very well done.

@Rahul: Thank you, Rahul! Through the lenses I get a better of insight into life and people of this country. I also want with my pictures to show that there is another side of Afghanistan besides what one reads in the papers.
I looked at all your pictures last night Natalia - they're a wonderful insight into life in your country. I value your gentle, personal eye, documenting the people and places around you in such a violent world.
Our water is sweet and even in a drought available all the time for drinking. We are fortunate indeed but often sadly wasteful. We can't share our water but how wonderful to share thoughts and images here. :)

@Bron: Thank you, Bron for your encouraging and kind comments. My husband and I are working with an NGO, doing water projects in the NW of AF. We work in the most remote and poor villages. In some villages water is brought on donkeys from places 2-3 hours away. Sweet and cold water is the most desired drink in this area. so, our hope is that the water in the wells we drill will be sweet. Thanks for your understanding.
